ABOUT US

Hello! We're Kyle and Lindsey Stanton. We just got married in June of '18, left our jobs, and are taking a year to explore everything the USA has to offer in our converted Sprinter van named Louella. Our goals are to see all of the lower 48 states and their National Parks, to rendezvous with friends and family, and to discover other great attractions along the way.

About Kyle

Jack of all trades, master of fun. Kyle wants to do every possible outdoor activity, from fishing to trail running to road cycling. (August 2018, Sawtooth Wilderness, ID)

(Written by Lindsey) Kyle is a friend to all he meets, finds the best qualities in everyone, is passionate and curious about all things science and technology, is a skiing and mountaineering junkie, reads outdoor gear reviews for fun on the regular, is the best shoulder to cry on, the best cheerleader, the perfect snuggler, and the most intelligent, hardworking man I know. Kyle put his heart and soul into making Louella just perfect for us and I am continually thankful for his dedication to getting us on the road. He impresses me daily with the amount of random information he knows and the way he can fix up just about any issue that comes our way. He’s the king of dumb dad jokes, silly dance moves, and morning snuggles. He is my best friend, lover, and adventure partner all in one and I’m so lucky to adventure forever by his side.

About Lindsey

The jumping photo - a signature Lindsey move. (May 2018, Sagarmatha National Park, Nepal)

(Written by Kyle) Rumor has it Lindsey's grade school teacher once told her parents "She's got ants in her pants!" Well that seems about right - Lindsey loves to be on the move. She can't wait to see what's around the next bend and she loves meeting new people (even better if they have a dog). Lindsey is an explorer at heart, always ready to take on the next adventure. She prefers to try something difficult and fail, rather than never try at all. She'll always says "yes" when someone asks if she's in for the next adventure. She thrives on stoke and optimism, and has a drive to live a life satisfied both by grand adventures and by finding joy in the small details. She's the type of motivated person who loves to make her bed in the morning, because that way she wakes up already feeling accomplished.

The Van (Louella)

Louella “Sweet Lou” is a 2007 Mercedes Sprinter Van and our home on wheels. We bought her in November of 2017 from a climber in Seattle who had converted her to a livable space the year prior. We named her after Louella Road, the gateway to one of our first hikes together. She’s gotten a little bit of a facelift as we made the space more like home for us and we think she’s just beautiful.
